Synopsis

Standard, recommendations and codes are now available for the design and construction of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC), cover a large range of applications worldwide nowadays.  To design a safe and reliant pile-supported floor with SFRC is always the concern for engineer.  The recent advancements of SFRC technology has further improved the fiber performance such as perfect anchoring properties, ultra-high tensile and high-ductility steel wire to address the needs.

Tests has been established to validate the SFRC performance for the design to meet the given specific detailing provision for flooring applications through the use of specific fiber type, dosage and concrete grade.  Performance fR1 and fF are the key properties in SFRC design.

Today there are code-compliant software tools, such as Dramix^® Pro, ADAPT software, and SCIA software, available in the market, all based on global, local standards and guildlines, provides engineers with the technical and legal framework to offer innovative and cost-efficient solutions to their customers.

Speakers’ Profile:

Mr Torpong Thanadka

Technical Manager SEA, Oceania

Torpong, he graduated Civil Engineer from Chulalongkorn University (1998) and master degree from Thammasart University Thailand (2009). He worked in various field in construction industry for over 20 years and later served as specialist in high performance product such as high-performance bar, GFRP, and including the high-performance steel fiber.  He also shared his expertise by being an active speaker to university and civil engineering organization in Thailand. Since 2015 Mr. Torpong is working with Bekaert, world leading in Steel fiber, for Technical Manager of SEA.

Mr Peter Chan Farn Her

Sales Manager - (Malaysia, Singapore, Philippine and Taiwan) of Bekaert Malaysia

Mr. Peter Chan started his career in the building materials and construction industry since 1998.   He has more than 20 years’ experience in building materials trading, especially in concrete products.   In the past, he led the Technical Sales Team in one of the leading RMX players in the country and working closely with the specifiers, architects and engineers for high performance innovative and sustainable solutions before he moved to his current company. Currently, Peter is looking after the Dramix Steel Fiber business for a few countries in the region for various concrete applications.

• Registered member participant shall attend the seminar himself/herself personally. In the event a representative has been sent to attend, the representative must be a member of the same grade, otherwise the difference in registration fee must be paid before admission is allowed.
• Attendance by representative will not be issued with the Certificate of Attendance.
