This technical visit is about bringing our members to visit an Aquaponics System research and development company, the Aquaponics Science Park Sdn. Bhd. and Easy Pack. Easy Pack are automatic food packing machinery manufacturers and supplier, providing solution, advice and services with their expertise, skill and knowledge with 28 years’ experience in the food packaging, machine manufacturers and supplies industry. For the past 4 years, they have been doing R&D on Aquaponics System to provide a solution on sustainable agriculture and food security besides to create awareness to general publics on importance of healthy way of agriculture and conserve environment.
Aquaponics is a combination of Aquaculture and Hydroponics which establishes mutually beneficial relationship in an ecosystem. The system enables food security and future sustainable Agriculture Development.
Aquaponics allows fish and plants to be in one symbiotic system. Water in fish tank contains feces, ammonia etc. if these are discharged directly to lake and land, they will create burden on the environment. If we can use wastewater to water vegetables, it provides nutrients to vegetables. Water filtered by vegetables will be recycled back to fish tank.
This balance symbiotic system will avoid water quality to deteriorate. It creates symbiotic relationship between fish and vegetables. The core advantages of aquaponics system include the following:
- Synthetic Chemical Pesticide
- No Wastewater Disposal
- Save Water
As a result, it supplies fresh and safe vegetables and fish, promote environmental protection and sustainability.
