Synopsis
Currently, the population of Malaysia is 34 million. Have you ever thought about the number of firefighters in Malaysia? The answer is 14,000, which means that on average, 1 firefighter would have to save 2000 people’s lives! Even if our firefighters sacrifice their lives to save ours, it is still not enough as our population severely outnumbers the firefighters. So how do we reduce the casualties and the loss of human lives in a fire incident more effectively? The answer is to increase fire prevention awareness to everyone and to spread life-saving survival skills during a fire.
“Fire Destruction Is One Man’s Job, Fire Prevention Is Everybody’s Job.”
The occurrence of fire is not necessarily by accident, it occurs due to our ignorance and negligence about fire and we take it for granted that these incidents would not happen to us. A fire can happen in many ways that we do not expect. In recent years, the number of fire incidents in office buildings has increased, even though most office buildings are fully equipped with fire safety equipment. So why are fire incidents still happening? Let's discuss together the reason behind the happenings of these fire incidents in this seminar.
This seminar is the product of cooperation between Fire Preventors Society and Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia (Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia) to educate and raise fire prevention awareness to the public, including the practicing engineers and professionals. This seminar will enable the participants to understand the importance of fire prevention, the concept and essentials of the building layout design for fire escape, as well as the basic knowledge on fire safety equipment.
Topic Covers:
This seminar will not only allow the audience to gain more knowledge on how to prevent fire incidents from happening, the participants will also learn the basic knowledge behind building layout for fire escape, firefighting equipment, as well as the right way to react when there a fire breaks out. Let's work together to spread this fire prevention culture into our society. Together we can make the world a better place!!!
