Synopsis

Speaker will share her experience in what are the key attributes of successful engineers and how it makes a difference in an engineer’s career through practical examples in engineering environment.

She will offer some insights into common engineering challenges and current solutioning directions. Finally, the speaker will share about her career path navigating in domain change from manufacturing to R&D, and progression from engineer, to technical lead, to engineering manager.

Biodata of Speaker

Ms Ng Shoak Pheng

Shoak Pheng, Engineering Manager leading a Software Validation team in Intel IOTG (Internet of Things Group) based in Malaysia. Her current responsibility is to lead and deliver best in class quality software and firmware stacks for wide range of product lines that Intel IOTG offers. 

Shoak Pheng has a total of 16 years of experience in engineering field. With 10 years in chip manufacturing serving as product development engineer then technical manager. She developed and brough new product families from development, to manufacturing start-up, to high-volume manufacturing. Following 6 years in software engineering, serving as test engineer, technical lead and engineering manager. She brought software & firmware through development, to productization, to customer enabling support in SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), which encompasses software development and testing best practice.
