TOWARDS TRIPLE NET-ZERO
Synopsis
In line with the Penang State Government vision “Penang2030”, Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang is one of the very first local authority in Malaysia to promote Green Building development by different attractive incentives to the developers, building management and owners. Latest MBPP Night Shelter – a building towards triple net-zero (Zero Energy, Zero Water & Zero Waste)
The Night Shelter for the Street Citizens – a design towards Triple Net Zero, aims to achieve a huge reduction on energy, water and waste and perhaps striking zero consumptions by the combination of green & sustainable design approaches and good building practices & procurements in the coming future. Start from the sketch, the idea of Triple Net Zero has been identified as the project’s fundamental while referring Green Building Index as guidelines for all.
About the Speaker
BAYLON THAM WAI LEONG
DIRECTOR, PENANG GREEN COUNCIL
PAST CHIARMAN, MALAYSIA GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL NORTHERN CHAPTER
Born in 1982 at Ipoh, Perak. Baylon graduated from University Science of Malaysia with a degree in Bachelor of Science Housing, Building and Planning in 2003 and further with his second degree in Bachelor of Architecture in 2005. Practicing as the Director of for Green Building Consultancy company since 2009, he being actively invoked in green and sustainable architecture consultancy for most of the green projects and developments in Northern Region of Malaysia.
Baylon is a GBI Accredited Facilitator. He is also the Chairman for Malaysia Green Building Council Northern Chapter (Term 2018-2019 & 2019-2020). He is also selected as GBI Technical Committee since 2018. He then appointed by Chief Minister of Penang to be Board of Director, Penang Green Council in 2018. While managing as established GBI practice, he devotes substantial time to promote sustainable design and public awareness through public talks, community engagement programmes, Local Government and NGOs event.
