Environmentally Sustainable Methods To Reduce Household Water Consumption
Date: 1st August 2019 (Thursday)
Time: 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.
Venue: IEM Penang Secretariat
Synopsis
Greywater is a wastewater generated in every household via shower, laundry and kitchen activities. This source of wastewater is relatively less contaminated as compared to toilet wastewater which contains harmful bacteria.
Greywater has the potential to be treated and reused for non-potable activities in a household (i.e.: gardening, car washing, toilet flushing), reducing the need for freshwater that can be put into more essential use. This talk will focus on the use of a biodegradable material that can treat greywater to a level for non-potable usage. It will also cover developments on greywater treatment in commercial scale.
