IWK's Geospatial Solution in Managing Sewerage Asset Information for Engineers

Synopsis

Indah Geoportal is a Geographical Information System (GIS) online application developed to support IWK’s service in providing information to IWK’s customers. Via Indah Geoportal, engineers will be able to obtain the information without issuing any request through the conventional method and it can be done at will and in their comfort whereby they can navigate through the GIS application themselves and obtain the information required with a service fee. The usage of Indah Geoportal will reduce the user’s physical movement which will lead to the reduction of carbon footprint and as a greener option of non-printable information. Generally, the information request can be processed online without the need for IWK’S GIS personnel assistance.

For this session, Dr. Afifa will share about the features, modules and methods to obtain the information that are available in the Indah Geoportal System.

About the Speaker

Dr. Afifa has more than 17 years of experience in water and wastewater management, 14 years of which is in sewerage management. Currently, Dr. Afifa is the Head of Asset Management Unit in the Planning and Engineering Department at Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd (IWK). Graduated with a Bachelor of

Technology in Environment from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2003, before earning her Master of Science in Environmental Engineering in 2005 from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). In 2019, Afifa completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

At Asset Management Unit, Dr. Afifa is responsible to rollout and implement the Asset Management initiatives within IWK by developing, formulating, implementing and continuously improving the IWK’s Asset Management System which is in line with ISO 55001. She is also in charge of the asset related

information systems within the company which are the main source of asset related data such as the Asset Management Information System (AMIS), Integrated Geographical Information System (IGIS), Asset Risk Management System (ARMS) and capital works project planning.

• Closing Date: Registration should reach us latest by 9 May 2022 or when registration is full, whichever is earlier.
• Last minute registration will NOT be accepted.
• Registered member participant shall attend the event himself/herself personally. In the event a representative has been sent to attend, the representative must be a member of the same grade, otherwise the difference in registration fee must be paid before admission is allowed.
• Attendance by representative will not be issued with the Certificate of Attendance.
• Participants are to login with FULL NAME for our verification of Attendance.
• Fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
• If fail to attend the event, the fee paid will not be refunded.
• If the participant do not show up for it, or sign in and out, the participant will not be eligible for any CPD points. The requirement for eligibility is that the participant must participate in the entire event, should not be more than 15 minutes late, and should not leave early.
