Synopsis

The objective of conducting this workshop is in line with the requirement by the IEM Professional Interview Board that all existing Interviewers are required to attend Refresher Course on Outcome-Based Professional Interview process every 3 years. Apart from this, we also encourage and welcome more IEM Corporate Members to train as Interviewers.

The Refresher Course gives an improved version of the existing Professional Interview in that it assesses competency based on evidence; and uses marking rubrics to minimize subjectivity in assessment. The revised process is closely referenced to the UK Standards for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC) for Chartered Engineers.

This 1-Day training and certification workshop will cover the following learning modules.

About the Speaker

Ir. Dr. Mui had more than 25 years of working experience on leading, directing and managing various projects portfolios in the Electronics, Telecommunication, Automotive and Construction industries, professional development, as well as non-for-profit organizations, led and directed more than >100 local and global new product launch/projects successfully.

Dr. Mui carries a few credentials with him; he is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP®), a Certified PMP® Instructor, a Certified Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP®), and a Certified Agile Hybrid Project Professional (AHPP) with the Project Management Institute (PMI®), USA. A Certified ScrumMaster (CSM®) with the Scrum Alliance, USA. A Certified Trainer with the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp), Malaysia. A Certified Construction Project Manager (CCPM) and a Certified CCPM Trainer with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), Malaysia. A Competent Toastmaster (CTM) with the Toastmasters International, USA. A licensed Professional Engineer with a Practicing Certificate (PEPC) with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM), and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM). A Registered APEC Engineer (APEC Eng) and International Professional Engineer (IntPE) with the Institution of Engineers Malaysia. A Fellow of the ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology (AAET). He is also a registered ASEAN Engineer (ASEAN Eng) and Honorary Member of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organization (AFEO).

He has been an active member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia involved in leading and organizing various technical activities and events for the members and communities. He was the Chairman of the IEM Penang Branch (2014-2016) and is currently the Past Chairman of the IEM Penang Branch (2016-2023). He is also the Chairman (2022-2023), Deputy Chairman (2020-2022), Honorary Secretary cum Honorary Treasurer (2008-2009 & 2018-2020), Committee Member of the IEM Electronic Engineering Technical Division, eETD (2009-2022). Protem Committee (2021) and Committee Member of the IEM Material Engineering Technical Division (2021-2022). And the Council Member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (2019-2022), Standing Committee of IEM Admission and Practical Training (2019-2023), Standing Committee of IEM Examinations and Qualifications (2019-2023), and Standing Committee of IEM Activities (2022-2023). Appointed as the Professional Interview Coordinator of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia Penang Branch (2020-2025). He is the Principle Professional Interviewer with IEM and BEM. Senior Mentor of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM). Also, a Panel Evaluator of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC).

Today, Dr. Mui focuses on providing project management training, coaching and consultancy services to the local and oversea clients and non-for-profit organizations. He is currently the subject matter expert for the PMI® Project Management Professional (PMP®), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP®), and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) exam preparation boot camp, helping aspirant Project Managers/Directors, Project Leaders and Project Teams to prepare and pass the PMP®, PMI-ACP® and CAPM® credential exams. He has been a competent, experienced and qualified PMP® instructor over the last 12 years (2010-2022). To-date, he had conducted more than >200 sessions PMP® Exam Prep Boot Camp and more than >500 project management related workshops. Important Notes

• Closing Date: Registration should reach us latest by 27 Oct 2022 or when registration is full, whichever is earlier.
• Last minute registration will NOT be accepted.
• Registered member participant shall attend the event himself/herself personally. In the event a representative has been sent to attend, the representative must be a member of the same grade, otherwise the difference in registration fee must be paid before admission is allowed.
• Attendance by representative will not be issued with the Certificate of Attendance.
• Participants are to login with FULL NAME for our verification of Attendance.
• Fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
• If fail to attend the event, the fee paid will not be refunded.
• If the participant do not show up for it, or sign in and out, the participant will not be eligible for any CPD points. The requirement for eligibility is that the participant must participate in the entire event, should not be more than 15 minutes late, and should not leave early.
